With the primary piece of the collection, the LC01 chair takes its forms from my biggest inspiration; Mid-Century design.

The LC01, and the collection revolve around my inspiration in design. While specific or singular movements, designers, and techniques are typical sources of influences - I am more inspired by pieces of design. With the LC01, the inspiration lies from 50’s home and family furniture. Ray and Charles Eames being the pinnacle of design in the turn of the mid-century, the use of simple materials made for effective outcomes. While using steel may be of old methods - like bauhausian ones, this piece relies on the effectiveness of simple design to make the materials fit together. “Flashy” is not its first name, but comfort, effective production, and timelessness is.

Entirely built by hand, the formed steel is something I had always wanted to work with. The material redefines its rigid nature when put through the hydraulic bending machine. While we may see tubular steel as a rod, it can be manipulated to look like something smooth and supple; almost anything but metal.
